Volk Gallery is proud to present the work of Rosie McGregor. Each Volk artist is given a size limit and budget and left to their own devices. With this brief, McGregor has produced a series of clay pendants as small tokens honouring our paradoxical emotions; a reminder that it is both normal and acceptable to experience a spectrum of emotions, regardless of the social expectations. Feeling both intense love and overwhelmed is typical for many people and does not invalidate the experience.
Artist's Statement
Rosie McGregor is an artist and mum who's practice is primarily based in drawing. Their work is heavily influenced by day to day life as a parent with a focus on the mental state of being a mum to young children. Working in monochrome, McGregor likes to use pattern and detail to reinforce the portrayal of emotions and their often conflicting nature.
