Volk Gallery is proud to present the work of Jo Hanning. Each Volk artist is given a size limit and budget and left to their own devices. With this brief, Hanning has produced a series of editions inspired by the sketchbook as a location for experimentation and play. To explore this theme, Jo references Fuzzy-Felt, the infamous childhood toy, where designs and creations can be developed, layered or discarded much like a sketchbook.
Artist's Statement
Jo Hanning is a Dundee based artist, predominantly working in the areas of drawing and painting. Hanning's work is colourful and playful; presenting an alternate reality where colour, light and gestural mark making convey dreamy imagery.
