Volk Gallery is proud to present the work of Kyle Watson. Each Volk artist is given a size limit and budget and left to their own devices. With this brief, Watson has produced a series of prints, reflecting on time spent in Dundee whilst studying at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design. Each edition highlights a visual detail of our city, with it's many textures, shapes and patterns. Watson asks us to take our time, to celebrate the tiny design details that are all around us everyday... until they aren't.

Artist's Statement
Kyle Watson is a Glasgow based multi-disciplinary creative and recent Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design graduate. Though having studied graphic design at university, Kyle’s work often explores the balance and interplay between design and art.
Alongside freelance endeavours, Kyle currently works with Sandstone Studio and — in collaboration with fellow DJCAD graduates — has also launched ‘Work in Progress’, a networking initiative for Glasgow creatives.
21 Things (I Wish I’d Appreciated More While in Dundee)’ is a reflective photo-based project about making the effort to look closer and taking time to appreciate our surroundings.
Prompted by recent departure from the city, following a 4-year residency as a student, the work is also centered around retrospect and situational impermanence.
